What is ever so obvious in this journey of life is that times are changing rapidly. As Christians, we have been called out of the world, and we are dedicated to the will of God as Believer-Priests. We are a holy generation that have been brought into the marvelous light of the Lord. Walking in the light of God’s Word is a reality for us. We abide in the true vine.
One of my favorite Bible verses is I John 1:5, which states, “…God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
As we see the day approaching when the Lord Jesus will return for His bride, apostasy has become a common theme in the Church and the world alike. There is a gradual shift taking place, where truth is being offered on the altar of subjective thought and personal whim.
Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
An example of that apostasy is the National Football League’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Over the years, they have used that show to advance the New Age agenda of social justice and the softening of cultural and religious standards. Years ago, there was the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction. Then there was Madonna’s parade of Kabbalah. Each year there is another theme leading people away from God and the authority of His Word. This year, the Halftime Show may include homosexual marriage.
There are still some things that don’t change in life, and one of those things is the timeless and infallible truth of God’s Word. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.”
As Christians, we are called out of the world, and we are to be separate from the world. The world has nothing for us. Perhaps it’s time to make a stand as Christians and stop watching and supporting the NFL. Who’s on the Lord’s side?
